5 Top Tips for Film Funding

CIDNEY:  Are you a budding young film maker? But have no money to make your film?

NATHAN: Well we are here with 5 top tips on how to receive funding for your project.

CIDNEY: Tip one: find your investor. Many investors will offer you long term payments in exchange for their name in your credits.You can find your investor online or on social media. Not only will you benefit but your investor will too.

NATHAN: Tip two: Many charities want to support future film successes.The BFI film fund work closely with the government and national lottery to support new and upcoming filmmakers with bold, diverse and cultural ideas.

CIDNEY: Tip three: Finding other sources of income. Crowdfunding or kickstarter allow the public to give and invest money into your project in exchange for small rewards such as sneak peaks of behind the scenes, small credits in your film or even a signed picture.This allows for other sources of finance with no restraints.

NATHAN: Tip four: Interesting your investor. By inviting your investors to things such as VIP events it allows them to become more interested in the project, resulting  in further investment to the cause. 

CIDNEY: Tip five: Filming in the UK. Many company’s such as the British Film Commission offer advice on sourcing locations, crew, talent and most importantly tax relief. By using support agencies such as these it allows a smoother and easier production process and it helps young film makers massively by removing a lot of pre production stress.
